When was your passion for music born?
I've always had a passion for music. My parents raised me and made me listen to good music since I was little. My mother was perhaps the one who ranged a little more with genres, but my father has always been very passionate too.

I grew up surrounded by the music of Italian singer-songwriters such as Lucio Dalla, Rino Gaetano, Vasco Rossi, Fabrizio De Andrè and Lucio Battist, in short, the great masters.

"Music has never been lacking in the house, so my passion was born within the walls of the house. And from there I brought it inside me."
Sergio Ruggeri

And what about your passion for writing?
Three or four years ago I began a therapeutic journey, and it was from there that my great love for writing was born.

At first, I couldn't really put into words what I felt inside, and I was advised to go home and write down everything that came into my head, so I could read it out loud and express myself better. From that moment on, writing and I became one.
"I realized that writing was therapeutic for me. So I started writing, writing and writing again. That's how the lyrics of my first songs were born."
Sergio Ruggeri
We also know you as an actor, how did you start your career?

The acting spark was born in my second to last year of high school, when extracurricular activities were available, so I started dedicating myself to after-school theater.

"I've discovered that acting is a very powerful medium and a tool that has improved me, I think, as a person."
Sergio Ruggeri

I consider myself an introverted boy and acting helped me, together with the teachers and the boys of that period, to be able to put myself on the line, to study and to express myself in a more relaxed way. You could say that acting freed me a bit from my shyness.

After finishing high school I studied with Gisella Burinato for a while, from there I started to take part in the first auditions and thus I began to receive my first acting roles.

Does your personal life influence your lyrics?
I write absolutely what I feel and what I experience. I write about myself, I write about what happens to me, it's really a free outlet.
"After I write a song I feel very light, it's an incredible thing, it disarms me, I feel good."
Sergio Ruggeri
I never know if I will still like the text the next day, but in that moment I feel a sense of freedom and serenity that satisfies me.

Your videos have a strong cinematic language, tell us more.
After I produced the first EP which is composed of seven songs, we decided to choose which songs could be good for the videos. We chose to shoot three videos of the first three singles: Testate, Farmacie, Patatrac .

I am fortunate to be accompanied on this journey by great directors such as Yuri Santurri and Daniele Tofani of Thrilatera. They they understood me from the first moment. I explained to them how I wanted to shoot my videos and they helped me a lot both on the creation side and on the writing side.
"So we combined these two worlds, we wanted to tell the people who follow us and who are more used to seeing me, rather than listening to me, what I had inside, but in a conceptual way."
Sergio Ruggeri
I think that on a visual level we found the key. I really like their style and combining cinema with music was, in my opinion, a must for my path. We wanted to be a little dark but at the same time dry and direct, without getting lost in too many frills.

The choice was more to shoot shorts, rather than video clips. If you lower the volume of the song, you can notice this aspect even more. I am honored and grateful for what they have given me in these early days of work.

Where and how do you see yourself in five years?
I hope to be able to sing my songs in front of some people who support me and continue to support me, maybe in a nice arena. I see myself maybe around Italy with the people who have followed me since day 0.

In 5 years I would really like my greatest passion to have become my job. That's what I hope for. For now I'm busting my ass and I'm not giving up.

Is this a free-flowing expression or do you want to communicate something in particular?
I want to talk to people who, like me, maybe don't understand at first how important it is to be helped. People who are afraid or are afraid of being judged if they understand that it is right for them to undertake a path of analysis, or who are looking for tools to feel better.

I'm not convinced that you can be well for who knows how long, and with what continuity, but I think that you can still find a balance by working on yourself and finding the right tools to implement all this.

"I can't imagine not being able to feel free to tell the people who love me when I'm feeling bad. For me there should be no barriers or fears."
Sergio Ruggeri

For example, how many times have we all had a chat on the street with a friend with whom we perhaps don't have a daily dialogue, and always received an "Everything's fine" without ever going into more depth, or without being able to know if that person really had nothing wrong with them.

"I would love to be able to break down these barriers of form and make it possible for today's young people to be better with their fears and insecurities, and ask for help when they need it in a free way."
Sergio Ruggeri

Everyone gets beaten. From them, you become stronger and better people.

What musical influences do you prefer?
I'm crazy about electronic music, in particular, my favorites are definitely Glass animals, and without a doubt the Italian singer-songwriters and masters, the great pens. Today in Italy my favorite singer-songwriter is Francesco Motta , aka Motta, for me he makes crazy music.
